Hello, and welcome to LMU Goldens! I’m Letisha Uber, and my passion lies in raising exceptional Golden Retrievers with a strong focus on breed standards, health, temperament, and longevity. My journey with dogs began at an early age, growing up in a home with animals. My grandfather raised and bred Doberman Pinschers, and my "pappy" raised and bred Lhasa Apso, giving me an early introduction to the world of dogs and breeding. Additionally, my mother, an accomplished breeder and handler of AKC Champion Cocker Spaniels, had many friends in the breeding and showing world who helped educate me along the way. Their guidance instilled in me a deep respect for ethical breeding, structured training, and canine health, all of which have shaped my breeding philosophy today.
My breeding journey began in 2011 with American Pitbull Terriers, and in 2013, I ventured into English Bulldogs under the mentorship of a seasoned breeder. This experience taught me invaluable lessons in genetic health and the importance of early development, eventually leading me to Golden Retrievers in 2018. These dogs quickly became beloved members of our family and played a transformative role in supporting my son, who is on the Autism spectrum. Their intuitive nature, patience, and gentle companionship made a profound impact, inspiring me to share the joy and healing power of Golden Retrievers with other families.
Beyond breeding, my dedication to animal welfare is unwavering. Over the years, I’ve rescued and rehomed numerous animals—including dogs, cats, horses, birds, rabbits, fish, and more. As a foster caregiver for my local shelter, I provide a safe and nurturing environment for animals as they await their forever homes. I also mentor aspiring breeders, helping them develop ethical programs focused on health, proper puppy development, and best breeding practices.
At LMU Goldens, I am committed to breeding Golden Retrievers that adhere to breed standards, with a strong emphasis on health, temperament, and longevity. I’ve had the privilege of whelping many litters, ensuring both mother and puppies receive the best care. This includes assisting with significant litters, such as Bella’s two litters, which produced 12 and 14 puppies, respectively. Bella is the daughter of Zeke and Ella, the foundation dogs of LMU Goldens, marking the start of my journey with Golden Retrievers.
My commitment to continuous learning, hands-on care, and a passion for animal welfare drives me to constantly refine and improve my breeding program.
At LMU Goldens, I view breeding as both a privilege and a responsibility. Each puppy we raise is not just a pet, but a future family member, a loyal companion, and a devoted friend. That's why I am dedicated to producing healthy, well-socialized, and temperamentally sound Golden Retrievers that embody the very best qualities of this beloved breed.
Health Comes First: A Foundation of Wellness & Longevity
Golden Retrievers are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and affectionate nature, but like all breeds, they can be prone to certain genetic health conditions. To ensure that every puppy gets the best start in life, I focus on:
Thorough Health Screenings – All of our parent dogs undergo comprehensive health testing, including OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) evaluations for hips, elbows, heart, and eyes. In addition, genetic testing for breed-specific conditions ensures that puppies are free from inherited disorders.
Premium Nutrition & Early Development – From the moment they’re born, our puppies are fed a high-quality, nutrient-rich diet designed to support healthy growth, strong immune systems, and optimal brain development.
Preventative Veterinary Care – Puppies receive all age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming treatments, microchipping, and thorough health exams before they join their new families. This ensures they are off to a healthy start as they grow into happy, well-adjusted companions.
Lifetime Breeder Support – My commitment to you doesn’t end when your puppy leaves our home. I provide ongoing guidance and support throughout your dog’s life, helping with training, health care, and behavioral development. You’ll always have a knowledgeable resource to turn to as you navigate life with your new furry friend.
At LMU Goldens, the health, happiness, and well-being of our dogs come first, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
At LMU Goldens, I believe that a well-socialized puppy is a confident, adaptable, and happy companion. That’s why I integrate science-backed early development programs into my breeding practices to give each puppy the best start possible, including:
Puppy Culture – A structured socialization and training program that introduces puppies to new environments, problem-solving exercises, and early neurological stimulation (ENS). This helps build resilience, confidence, and a well-rounded temperament.
BAB (Badass Breeder) Empowered Breeder Techniques – A unique methodology that empowers puppies through critical learning periods, real-world experiences, and early scent introduction (ESI), promoting strong cognitive and emotional development.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) – Daily handling exercises that stimulate brain growth, enhance immune responses, and improve stress tolerance, resulting in calmer, more adaptable adult dogs.
Early Scent Introduction (ESI) – A proven technique to enhance puppies’ scenting abilities, which is especially beneficial for those who may go on to become therapy dogs, service dogs, or scent detection dogs.
Household Desensitization & Confidence Building – Puppies are gradually exposed to household sounds, textures, new people, car rides, and other pets. This helps them grow into well-adjusted and confident adults.
By the time they are ready to join their new families, LMU Goldens puppies have already started:
✔ Basic potty training
✔ Introduction to crate training
✔ Socialization with children, adults, and other animals
✔ Exposure to common household sights & sounds
This ensures your puppy transitions smoothly into their new home with a strong foundation for a happy, healthy life.
At LMU Goldens, my mission goes beyond simply breeding exceptional Golden Retrievers. I am dedicated to providing the highest level of care, health, and training for every dog and puppy in my program. A crucial part of this commitment is my ongoing education and professional development, which helps me stay at the forefront of canine health, behavior, genetics, and training.
Through extensive coursework and certifications from internationally recognized institutions, I continuously update my knowledge to stay on top of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, breeding practices, and canine behavior science. My approach is deeply rooted in a strong understanding of animal welfare, responsible breeding, and proactive healthcare, ensuring that each puppy gets the best possible start in life.
By staying educated and informed, I can offer puppies and families the very best care, support, and guidance, while maintaining the highest standards for health and well-being.
I’ve worked hard to build a strong foundation in animal health, welfare, and training through a wide range of diplomas, certifications, and specialized training. These credentials equip me with the knowledge needed to practice ethical breeding, ensure proper early puppy development, and provide valuable education to families who choose an LMU Goldens puppy.
