Meet Letisha Uber – Your Dedicated Golden Retriever Breeder

Hello, and thank you for visiting LMU Goldens! I’m Letisha Uber, and I am passionate about raising exceptional Golden Retrievers with love, integrity, and a deep commitment to their well-being. My journey with dogs began at an early age, growing up in a home filled with animals and under the guidance of my mother, an accomplished breeder and handler of AKC Champion Cocker Spaniels. Her dedication to ethical breeding, structured training, and canine health profoundly influenced my own path in the dog world.

A Lifelong Love for Breeding & Animal Welfare

In 2013, I took my first step into the breeding world with English Bulldogs, a breed close to my heart. With the mentorship of a seasoned breeder, I gained invaluable knowledge on responsible breeding, genetic health, and the importance of structured early development. This experience laid the groundwork for my transition to Golden Retrievers, a breed that captured my heart in ways I never expected.

In 2018, I welcomed two Golden Retrievers into my home, and my life changed forever. These incredible dogs not only became beloved members of our family but also played a transformative role in supporting my son, who is on the Autism spectrum. Their unwavering patience, intuitive nature, and gentle companionship provided a level of emotional support that no therapy could match. Inspired by their impact, I knew I wanted to share the joy, intelligence, and healing power of Golden Retrievers with other families.

Beyond Breeding: A Commitment to Rescue & Education

My passion for animals extends far beyond breeding. Over the years, I have rescued and rehomed over 100 animals, including:

🐶 Dogs
🐱 Cats
🐴 Horses
🦜 Birds
🐰 Rabbits
🐟 Fish
… and more!

I also dedicate my time as a foster caregiver for my local shelter, offering animals a safe, nurturing space while they wait for their forever homes. Additionally, I mentor my sister-in-law in responsible breeding, helping her build a breeding program centered on health, ethics, and proper puppy development.

My lifelong commitment to animal welfare drives me to continuously refine and improve my breeding program through education, experience, and hands-on care.

Our Philosophy: Raising Exceptional Golden Retrievers with Purpose

At LMU Goldens, I believe that breeding is both a privilege and a responsibility. Every puppy we raise is a future family member, a loving companion, and a devoted friend. That’s why I am committed to producing healthy, well-socialized, and temperamentally sound Golden Retrievers that reflect the best qualities of this beloved breed.

🐾 Health Comes First: A Foundation of Wellness & Longevity

Golden Retrievers are known for their loyal nature, intelligence, and affectionate temperament, but they are also prone to certain genetic health conditions. To ensure that each puppy has the best start in life, I prioritize:

Rigorous Health Screenings – All parent dogs undergo comprehensive OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) testing for hips, elbows, heart, and eyes, along with genetic testing for breed-specific conditions to ensure puppies are free from inherited disorders.

Premium Nutrition & Early Development – Puppies are raised on high-quality, nutrient-rich diets to support healthy growth, strong immune systems, and optimal brain development.

Preventative Veterinary Care – Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming treatments, microchipping, and thorough health exams before joining their new families.

Lifetime Breeder Support – I provide lifelong guidance and assistance to puppy families, ensuring you have a knowledgeable resource to help navigate training, health care, and behavioral development throughout your dog’s life.

Enrichment & Training: Raising Confident, Well-Socialized Puppies

A well-socialized puppy is a confident and adaptable companion. That’s why I incorporate science-backed early development programs into my breeding practices, including:

Puppy Culture – A structured socialization and training program that introduces puppies to new environments, problem-solving exercises, and early neurological stimulation (ENS) to build resilience and confidence.

BAB (Badass Breeder) Empowered Breeder Techniques – A methodology designed to empower puppies through critical learning periods, exposure to real-world experiences, and early scent introduction (ESI), fostering strong cognitive and emotional development.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) – Daily handling exercises that stimulate brain growth, strengthen immune responses, and improve stress tolerance, leading to calmer, more adaptable adult dogs.

Early Scent Introduction (ESI) – A method proven to enhance puppies’ scenting ability, benefiting those who may go on to become therapy dogs, service dogs, or scent detection dogs.

Household Desensitization & Confidence Building – Puppies are gradually exposed to household sounds, textures, new people, car rides, and other pets to ensure they grow into well-adjusted and confident adult dogs.

By the time they are ready to go home, LMU Goldens puppies have already started:
Basic potty training
Introduction to crate training
Socialization with children, adults, and other animals
Exposure to common household sights & sounds

This ensures that your puppy transitions smoothly into their new home and has the best possible start in life.
